Art Major Uses Degree to Make Artisanal Salad at Wendy’s
Colorado Springs, CO – Rupert Beansprout (32) has earned himself an Employee of the Month recognition from the local Wendy’s after the regional manager noticed the exceptional craftsmanship of his Harvest Chicken Salad.
“I came to the restaurant to do a routine quality-check, but when I saw this beauty of a salad, I knew we must have an artist on our hands,” said Reed Willows.
Beansprout is an artist, having graduated from the Art Institute of Chicago in 2009 with a bachelor of fine arts in studio, and this isn’t the first time he has been recognized for his work with food.
“I spent a semester sculpting United States landmarks out of perishable food items,” said Beansprout, “But then I moved back home and haven’t had time to pursue my passions. All of this attention over my artisanal salad has encouraged me to take up my medium again!”
Wendy’s will set up a folding table open to the public to display Beansprout’s current work, The Hoover Spam.
